Where is it???
By Car (From North): Leave the A1 at the A167 and head towards Newcastle's City Centre. Follow the signs to the City Centre and follow the A167 until you get to a signpost for RVI, Haymarket and Universities. This is the B1318. At the top of the slip road, follow the signs towards RVI. Continue past RVI and two sets of traffic lights. Bear left when you come across a dental surgery. Turn right, past Barker and Stonehouse and the stadium should be on your right.
By Car (From South): On the A1, follow the signposts towards Newcastle and Airport. 3 miles after you pass the Angel of the North, take the A184 signposted Gateshead/Newcastle (Centre). In 1.5 miles, take the right-hand lane, signed A189. This takes you over the Redheugh Bridge and on to St. James' Boulevard. In half a mile, turn left at the roundabout and the ground is on your right.
By Car (From West): Take the A186 signposted City (West) from the A69. Straight after you pass the General Hospital, left. After 200 yards, turn right, down Arthurs Hill. At the bottom of the hill is a roundabout. Turn right here and the stadium is on your left.
Parking: You are advised to park in one of the City Centre's car parks, which are just a short walk from the stadium.
By Rail: The Metro rail underground service has it's own station dedicated to St. James' Park and is served from the main rail station. The other City Centre stations are located a walkable distance from the ground.
By Air: Newcastle International Airport - (0191) 286 0966 - Metro train link to Stadium, taking approximately 25 minutes.
Trivia
The club earned their nickname from a long string of 1-0 defeats. It derives from the "One for Sorrow" rhyme, relating to the counting of Magpies.
